An example of a campaign we have recently finished is the KatiePeckett.com website, a florist based on Ecclesall Road. We were approached by Andrew Peckett, the Managing Director in March of 2009, and started the project on the 1st April. The campaign was estimated to take 9 months but after 8 months we finished the bulk of the work. At this point we were also seeing the results come through, and now we maintain the positions by way of a few hours per month on an ongoing basis.
The key phrases that we targeted were the ones which had the highest search volumes, ‘Florist Sheffield’ and ‘Flowers Sheffield’. Initial research showed there was quite a lot of local competition from other websites which had been optimised, and there were also many national companies targeting the top positions too. Previously, KatiePeckett.com had a Google Adwords budget of £100 per month but saw little return for the money. Our main objectives were to get to number one on Google for the main phrases, plus optimize the website to the extent that it stayed in these positions in the coming years.
The site has achieved the number one positions in the Google organic search results, and we have also driven traffic to the site via over 100 other various search terms for this industry. The traffic is up over 320%, and the sales have increased by the same amount since the owners invested in the SEO campaign with SEO’Clock.
