SEO Jobs On The Rise

Just while we are entering the final stages of the economic recession, the effects of the recent years mean that jobs are harder to come by than they have been for 2 decades. The worse the recession the harder the fall when it comes to organisations trading with limited resources and high staffing levels, and quite often the first to go are the staff seen as luxury. Unfortunately marketing teams suffer badly, in particular PR and management level jobs will go.

After the first few terms of recession, we start to see the unemployment rise, and this wave of redundancies usally follows behind the trend of recession, being a side effect of the main economic difficulties (lower sales, exports, manufacturing etc).

One industry that is seeing a steady increase through these tougher times however, is the SEO industry and online marketing in general. So many retail firms are counting the cost of throwing thousands of pounds every month at PPC (pay per click) and other online marketing schemes, which ultimately fail to offer a good enough return on investment for some organisations to suffer. This means that in turn, now the optimization market is growing and getting more exposure, the smart management decisions are beginning to choose the long term security of investing in SEO.

Far from being a quick fix, it sets the roots to a successful and healthy sales tool, a marketing channel that gives longevity as well well qualified traffic. Searching around it’s clear to see the increase in positions at all levels for SEO jobs, and this kind of work will no doubt be recognised more and more in the coming years at degree and qualification levels.
