News flash- SEO basics remain exactly the same

What’s new for 2010 in the SEO market? Well there’ll be a few new social media sites mentioned, and quite alot about the new format given the front page of the Google search results. There is also a fair bit of emphasis on how Yahoo and Bing are taking the fight to Google (by pumping millions of dollars into the technology they share).

There is no substitute for basic SEO techniques. Nothing will change this year when it comes to link building- it’s still pretty important you do some. There will be no quick fix to content and on-page relevancy of data, images and text. Code will be filed under the same set of rule books; make it friendly and you’ll go further, or make it messy and watch a website struggle.

That’s right, all the basics remain and we love it this way, it keeps the rubbish and spammers away and makes SEO more desirable. This obviously favours SEO companies like ours but there is no other way around it with so many web pages in the World. There has to be some sort of way to cream the good sites to the top of the pile and this won’t be changing in 2010, or 2011 for that matter.
