There has been talk and more talk about Google’s venture into the mobile phone market, and now it seems the US have some firm details about the pricing levels- indicating what it could cost in the UK. The browser and marketing side of the phone will be the most interesting development that we are waiting for. Google Inc is all about advertising revenue, and how they eventually integrate clickable ads into their mobile applications could pave the way for the future of mobile ads.
In the States the phone is available on T Mobile to start with, although there are no details of the network providers for the UK as yet. There are also some images of the phone with the display layout, something we have all been waiting for. The estimated prices are around the $500 mark, which would suggest a £400 price tag in the UK. With a contract the price will be expected to be around that of Apples iPhone (depending on the tariff).
Can it compete with the ultra successful iPhone? The Google Nexus One is just a few months from launch, and they will be the first search engine provider to venture into the mass market for cellular phones.
