As the launch of the new Google phone (said to be the Google Nexus One) nears, there are now rumours that the search provider could make an announcement as soon as January 5th. This is not confirmed but appears to have been leaked to the press. The launch is said to be at the Google headquarters in California.
The media World and general public await the details of the new cellular device, with details of the applications creating great excitement in the gadget loving community. This will be seen as the first real rival to Apple’s iPhone.
It seems the iPhone itself has helped create the hype surroundingthe Google Nexus product. The super success of the first mobile phone from Apple has meant the public now views the simple mobile as more than a phone, with social networking and business applications taking it to another level.
Just like Apple, Google is believed to be offering the Nexus product directly and also through selected network providers (for both sale and network connection).
