The term digital marketing is applied to ways in which customers are sought via digital methods, including the internet, email, television and radio. Digital marketing has taken a dramatic shift in the last 2 decades due to the rise of the internet and email as communication forms.

Digital marketing can be broken down into two forms. Pull digital marketing and push digital marketing. Push refers to the marketer sending out information and then the end user being involved. This is a very quick and responsive tactic, and is more aggressive than other types. Examples are email campaigns and SMS messaging.

Pull is where the browser / potential customer pulls in data at their leisure, and this would usually be in the form of an internet search.

Online digital marketing refers to marketing of all types via digital technology (and media through internet services). There are many website companies which now offer online digital marketing, for all types of either digital companies or more traditional high street retailers.

Online digital marketing is one of the cheapest methods of promoting goods and services. Since the huge rise in numbers of people browsing the internet, digital marketing is seen as more beneficial for various corporate industries and organisations.

Online digital marketing includes content such as images, videos, films, music, songs etc through the internet. All this content can be found in various search engines and blogs, and digital marketing aims at increasing exposure trough digital communication.
