Blink and you’ll be behind. SEO is so fast moving it’s scary sometimes, the age of new media and marketing demands you keep in touch or risk losing the required knowledge to perform succesful campaigns for your clients. So why does SEO keep changing? What’s the reason we have to check the SEO News on a daily basis? Is it not good enough now, the systems that the search engines have in place?
Well the main reason SEO moves so quick is that it’s still in its infancy. Print marketing is hundreds of years old, and new marketing campaigns are still being delivered every week. TV adverts are 60+ years old and are still being developed and moving on. Search engine optimization is just a dozen years into it’s being, and that means the changes are coming thick and fast. The saturation point will never come either, as SEO is still a marketing tool at the end of the day, and great creation is never ending.
Another point why SEO is still so fast paced is the technology involved with website design and website apps. Look at the way in which sites were created 5 years ago, especially in e-commerce. They were hand built or a complicated PHP based template that had the search robots running scared. Now when you see the daily SEO News there are new platforms everywhere.
Now there are CSS templates in place that take away all the dirty website code, and leave you with a clean and legible site for those robots. Wordpress and Joomla have taken the game further forward, allowing the average business person to find a cheap solution to a good website that is SEO friendly. They have SEO apps that help anyone put in place important elements like tags, meta details and internal linking.
The other major factor with the rise and change of optimization is the third party, off page marketing must haves. Social networking websites, blogging forums and popular places to leave RSS feeds will leave your head spinning. There are always new sites that will need attention, places where you will have to leave blog and links and pictures etc. Like we said, blink and you’ll miss it.
