So what separates search engine optimisers from each other? Why is one SEO’er so much better than another that he or she earns the title of a SEO expert? Well of course the results are important, but we see it as being much less straight forward than that, and here is why…

If you wanted your car fixing then you would take it to a garage, and understandably you would expect good value for money. How would you register and evaluate whether it was actually good value, and in which circumstance would you say to a friend you received an expert service from the garage? Well if they fixed the car and you drove out then it would be a job done, that is true. But what happens if it breaks down again the week after, and you need to spend more money to make it road worthy? And what if the company did not want to help when you told them the work had not stood up to the test of time and you were not satisfied? It is exactly the same with SEO, and there are many optimization firms that offer a quick fix which won’t mean a well sorted website that will perform in years to come.

We consider a SEO expert to be someone who can underpin a webpage with all the basics to help it succeed in the long term. Longevity is the key word here because otherwise pay per click would really be a viable alternative to SEO. When the basics are in place a good campaign would mean the skills they use will put you on the map across the World Wide Web, in places and with content that will be around for a long time. This means the work must be good to excellent quality as a minimum. If a news article or blog is not structured in the right way then the short term rankings will evaporate and you will be left with a bill to pay and little traffic to show for it.

Finally it really is a very transparent industry in which we operate. There are few other market sectors where the experts are visible for all to see. By this we mean that the results of a SEO expert are there for all to see, the proof is in the pudding as they say, and we recommend you simply look at sites and traffic to find out the truth. When a SEO expert has many top rankings they can show you, that have been maintained over a long period of time, then maybe they are the right company for you to work alongside.
