Organic SEO

There are many ways to advertise a website on the internet. Promotion is a requirement as a great looking site is nothing without any visitors. As we try to get visitors to our pages to view our offerings, most people will generally find it harder now than ever to pay for traffic and still make a profit.

Most ways of getting exposure on the internet cost money, and this is increasing too. There are traditional ways to get clicks such as PPC which means pay per click. Every time someone clicks through to your site you pay a set fee depending on where you are listed. This can vary dramatically on the key phrases you use, and can be as much as £10 per click for certain insurance markets.

The most sought after way to drive traffic to a website is via Organic SEO. This is the process of changing a site so it is recognised for a particular theme or set of key phrases, and subsequently ranked higher in the natural search results. When we view search listings the paid for results are usually on the right and top, making it more prominent so the engines generate higher revenues. The organic results are in the centre and down the left, and are free to the websites whom appear.

To be able to get to the top of the organic part is very difficult now, and this is why Organic SEO has become more in demand and more expensive, but it can save a company a fortune in the long run and make or break their long term success. The amount of work that goes into an Organic SEO marketing campaign varies on the competitiveness of the phrases you target, and the volume of words for your products and services.

Of course Organic SEO may offer free traffic from the search providers, but it doesn’t come for free! The time it takes to implement the changes to a site varies but for a keyphrase in retail of an average difficulty rating we would say 6-9 months from scratch. Some markets we have attacked have taken us 18 months to get there, but once the retailer got to number one they had over 400 unique visitors a day for that particular phrase. The cost was soon justified as they converted well and improved their sales dramatically. Organic SEO is the only way forward as far as we are concerned!
